Yalta is a resort city located on the south coast of the Crimean Peninsula, bordered by the Black Sea. It serves as the administrative center of the Yalta Municipality within the region of Crimea.

The city is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine and is considered part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. However, following the 2014 annexation, it is currently controlled de facto by Russia, which regards the town as part of the Republic of Crimea. According to the most recent census, Yalta has a population of 76,746.
