Oleshky is a city located in the Kherson Raion of the Kherson Oblast in southern Ukraine. Situated on the left bank of the Dnieper River with the town of Solontsi to its south, it is recognized as the oldest city in the oblast and one of the oldest settlements in the region.
The city is notably situated near the Oleshky Sands, a large desert region. It serves as the administrative center for the Oleshky urban hromada and is home to the residence of artist Polina Rayko, which is designated as a national cultural monument of Ukraine. As of recent records, the city had a population of 24,124.
