Vovchansk is a depopulated and destroyed city located in the Chuhuiv Raion of the Kharkiv Oblast in northeastern Ukraine. Situated within the historic region of Sloboda Ukraine, the city serves as the administrative center for the Vovchansk urban hromada.
The geography of the area is defined by the Vovcha river, a tributary of the Donets river, which runs through the city. Due to recent events, the settlement is currently characterized by significant destruction and a lack of permanent residents.
