Kharkiv, also known as Kharkov, is the second-largest city in Ukraine. It is situated in the northeastern part of the country and serves as the largest city within the historic region of Sloboda Ukraine.
The city functions as the administrative center for both Kharkiv Oblast and Kharkiv Raion. Prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, the city had an estimated population of 1,421,125 residents.
