Balakliia (also known as Balakliya) is a city located in the Izium Raion of the Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine. It is situated on the northeast side of the Siverskyi Donets river, specifically near the point where it joins the Balakliika river, which flows through the town.
The city serves as an important railroad junction within the oblast and hosts the administration of the Balakliia urban hromada. As of recent data, the population of the city is 26,334.
