Pokrovsk is a city located in the Donetsk Oblast of Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of the Pokrovsk Raion and is situated approximately 56 kilometres northwest of Donetsk. The city was formerly known by the names Krasnoarmiisk and Grishino.
Historically, Pokrovsk was incorporated as a city of oblast significance until 2020. While its population was previously recorded at about 60,127, it experienced a significant decline due to Russia's Pokrovsk offensive. By January 2025, the population had fallen to around 7,000, and by late July 2025, it was reported to be under 1,500 residents. Russia captured the city in early 2026.
