Kurakhove is a city located in the Pokrovsk Raion of the Donetsk Oblast in Ukraine. As of recent records, the city has an estimated population of approximately 18,220, following a census that recorded 21,479 residents in 2001.
The city is notable for hosting the Kurakhove Power Station. According to current reports, the city fell under Russian occupation in December 2024, while the power station was subsequently occupied in January 2025.
