The Bvumba Mountains, also known as the Vumba Mountains, are located in the Eastern Highlands on the border between Zimbabwe and Mozambique. They lie approximately 10 kilometers southeast of the city of Mutare. The range rises to a peak called Castle Beacon at an elevation of 1,911 meters and is situated near the Chimanimani Mountains to the south and the Nyanga Mountains to the north.
Often referred to as the "Mountains of the Mist," the area is characterized by early morning mist that typically clears by mid-morning. The region features cool, green hills that host various amenities, including a botanical garden, a casino, and a golf course at the Leopard Rock Hotel. Additionally, the mountains are recognized for their coffee plantations.
