Njombe is a town situated in southern Tanzania. It serves as the regional capital of the Njombe Region and functions as the district headquarters for both the Njombe Rural District and the Njombe Urban District.
The town is located at an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters on the eastern edge of the Kipengere Range. Due to its high elevation, it is notably characterized by its reputation as a cold town.
