The tumbi, also referred to as the toombi, tumba, or toomba, is a traditional musical instrument originating from the Punjab region of the northern Indian subcontinent. It is characterized as a high-pitched, single-string plucking instrument.
The instrument is primarily associated with the folk music of Punjab. In contemporary music scenes, it remains highly popular and is frequently utilized in Western Bhangra music.
