Wete

Tanzania

Wete is a town situated on the west side of the northern part of Pemba Island in Tanzania. It serves as the capital of the Pemba North Region and functions as the administrative seat for the Wete District.

The town had a population of 35,951 as of 2022. Historically, the harbor at Wete served as a significant port-of-entry for accessing the island of Pemba.
