Misungwi, also known as Missungwi or Isungwi, is a ward located within the Misungwi District of the Mwanza Region in Tanzania. It serves as a significant geographical point along the primary trunk road connecting the cities of Mwanza and Shinyanga.
The area is characterized by its role as the largest town situated on this specific transport route. According to data from the 2016 Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report, the ward had a population of 34,612 people, reflecting an increase from 30,728 residents recorded in 2012.
