Morogoro is a city situated in the eastern part of Tanzania. It is located approximately 196 kilometers west of the national coastal city of Dar es Salaam and serves as the administrative capital of the Morogoro Region.
The city is informally known by the name Mji kasoro bahari, which translates to "city short of an ocean" or "city short of a port."
