Liwale is a district located in the Lindi Region of Tanzania. It serves as one of the six districts within the region and is recognized as the largest district in Lindi, as well as one of the largest districts in the country.
The district is bordered by the Pwani Region to the north, the Kilwa District to the east, the Ruangwa District to the south, and the Morogoro Region to the west. A significant portion of Liwale district falls within the boundaries of Nyerere National Park.
