Lindi is a historic coastal town located in southern Tanzania. It serves as the administrative center for the Lindi Region, which is identified as the least populated region in the country.
The town is situated at the head of Lindi Bay along the Indian Ocean. Geographically, it is positioned approximately 105 kilometers north of Mtwara, Tanzania's southernmost coastal town, and about 450 kilometers south of Dar es Salaam, the nation's largest city.
