Zhongxing New Village, also known as Chunghsing New Village, is an urban village situated in Nantou City within Nantou County, Taiwan (ROC). It served as the seat of the government of Taiwan Province until the provincial government was abolished in 2018.
The name Zhongxing is derived from a Chinese legend regarding the Shao Kang Resurgence, which refers to the restoration of the Xia dynasty by King Shao Kang. This naming serves as an allusion to the Republic of China (ROC) government's objective of reclaiming mainland China.
