Akçakoca is a town located in the Düzce Province within the West Black Sea Region of Turkey. Situated approximately 200 km east of Istanbul, it serves as the administrative seat of the Akçakoca District. As of 2022, the town has a population of 27,878.
The town was named in honor of a 14th-century Turkish chieftain who captured the area for the Ottoman Empire; a statue dedicated to him stands in the town today. Akçakoca is notable as a regional center for hazelnut cultivation and features local landmarks such as a modern mosque with an unusual design, various beaches, and the ruins of a small Genoese castle.
