Şahinbey is a municipality and district located in the Gaziantep Province of Turkey. It covers an area of 960 km² and serves as a significant residential and educational hub, housing a population of 941,055 as of 2022. The district encompasses the southern portion of the Gaziantep agglomeration along with its surrounding countryside.
The area is named in honor of Şahin Bey (1877–1920), a commander within the Turkish National Movement. It is notably characterized by its high concentration of student housing for the public University of Gaziantep, as well as serving as the site for two private institutions: Zirve University and Hasan Kalyoncu University.
