Ilgaz, formerly known as Koçhisar, is a town located in the Çankırı Province within the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. It serves as the administrative seat of the Ilgaz District and has a recorded population of 7,825 as of 2021.
The town is situated at the southern foot of the Ilgaz Mountains, which span the border between the Çankırı and Kastamonu provinces. The mountain range is notable for hosting various ski resorts.
