Ceyhan is a municipality and district located in the Adana Province of Turkey. It covers an area of 1,426 km² and has a population of 158,922 as of 2022. The city holds the distinction of being the most populous district in the province, excluding the city of Adana itself.
The city is situated on the Ceyhan River, which flows through the Çukurova plain. To manage flood control and provide irrigation for the lower river basin surrounding the area, the Ceyhan River is dammed at Aslantas. Additionally, Ceyhan serves as a significant transportation hub for oil and natural gas originating from Middle Eastern and Central Asian regions.
