İdil is a city and the seat of the İdil District located in the Şırnak Province of Turkey. It is situated within the historical region known as Tur Abdin.
As of 2021, the town had a population of 30,271 and is primarily composed of Kurds from the Domanan, Dorikan, Harunan, Meman, and Omerkan tribes. While the area was formerly home to a large number of Assyrians/Syriacs, only a few families from that community remain today.
