Altınekin is a municipality and district located in the Konya Province of Turkey. It covers a total area of 1,312 km² and had a recorded population of 14,289 as of 2022.
The district was originally known as Zıvarık before the İnönü government officially changed its name in 1963. The new name was derived from one of the plateaus within Zıvarık, which was named Altınekin due to the fertility of the land.
