Gevaş is a district and municipality located in the Van Province of Turkey. It covers a total area of 1,544 square kilometers and had a recorded population of 26,918 as of 2022.
The local government is led by Mayor Murat Sezer, who was elected from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in March 2019. Additionally, Hamit Genç was appointed as the Kaymakam by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in July 2019.
