Sürmene is a municipality and district located in the Trabzon Province of Turkey. It covers a total area of 166 km2 and had a recorded population of 25,950 as of 2022.
The region has historical roots dating back to ancient times, with the town of Hyssus or Hyssos situated nearby. The current mayor of the district is Rahmi Üstün of the AKP party.
