Turhal is a district located in the Tokat Province within the Black Sea region of Turkey. It serves as the administrative seat of the Turhal District and has a population of 62,030 as of 2022. The town is situated at an elevation of approximately 530 meters above sea level.
Geographically, Turhal is positioned on a fertile plain that is fragmented by the Yeşil Irmak river. It is located roughly 48 km to the west of Tokat. The area is notably recognized for its sugar beet processing plant, which was established in 1934 as a significant enterprise of the young Turkish Republic.
