Çarşamba is a municipality and district located in the Samsun Province of Turkey. Situated in the center of the Çarşamba Plain, the district covers a total area of 774 km2. As of 2022, the population of the municipality was recorded at 140,664.
The local government is currently led by Mayor Hüseyin Dündar, who runs as an independent candidate. The district is also notable as the birthplace of Ferhan Şensoy, a prominent Turkish writer, actor, and stage director.
