Bafra is a municipality and district located within the Samsun Province of Turkey. It covers an area of approximately 1,500 km² and has a population exceeding 140,000 inhabitants. The city is situated in the fertile Kızılırmak Delta, roughly 20 kilometres inland from the Black Sea coast.
The region is primarily known for its agricultural significance, specifically the Bafra Plain, which is recognized across Turkey for its rich soil and high-quality tobacco growing conditions. The city is a notable center for the production of cigarettes, tobacco, ice cream, and various other agricultural products. It is located 52 km northwest of Samsun and is accessible via State road D.010.
