Ferizli is a municipality and district located in the Sakarya Province of Turkey. The name of the settlement is derived from Feriz or Feyzi Ağa, an individual who resided in the region. During the Ottoman period, the area was known as Firuzlu before it eventually adopted its current name.
The town was established between 1400 and 1406 as Feriz or Feyzi Ağa Farm. It was founded by Armenian immigrants who fled from Sivas to escape the tyranny of Timur. The original farmland associated with this settlement extended to the villages of Damlık in the east and Elmalık in the southwest. Additionally, the town of Adapazarı (Donigaşen) was also established by these same Armenian immigrants under the protection of the bey.
