Gülşehir is a town located in the Nevşehir Province of Turkey's Central Anatolia region. It serves as the seat of the Gülşehir District and is situated near the Fairy Chimney valley of Göreme. The town sits at an elevation of 885 meters (2,904 feet).
Historically known by various names, including Aravissos, Arapsun, and ancient Zoropassos, the settlement has a long history in the region. As of 2022, the population of Gülşehir is recorded at 12,474.
