Avanos

Avanos is a town located in the Nevşehir Province within the Cappadocia region of Central Anatolia, Turkey. It serves as the seat of the Avanos District and is situated approximately 18 km (11 mi) north of the provincial capital, Nevşehir.

Historically known as Venessa, the modern town stands on the banks of the Kızılırmak, which is the longest river in Turkey. As of 2022, the population of Avanos was recorded at 14,968.
