Karaköy is a commercial quarter situated in the Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, Turkey. Located on the European side of the Bosphorus, it sits at the northern portion of the mouth of the Golden Horn.
The area is known by its modern name, Karaköy, which serves as the contemporary designation for the historic neighborhood formerly known as Galata.
