Yatagan

The yatagan, also referred to as the yataghan or ataghan, is a type of Ottoman knife or short sabre. It was primarily utilized from the mid-16th century until the late 19th century. The weapon is sometimes called a varsak, a name derived from the Turkish Varsak tribe.

Theyatagan was extensively used within Ottoman Turkey and across various regions under immediate Ottoman influence. These areas included the Balkans, Caucasus, and North Africa.
