Muğla is a city located in southwestern Turkey. It serves as the administrative center for both the Menteşe district and the Muğla Province, which extends along the country's Aegean coast.
The city center is situated inland at an altitude of 660 meters, positioned approximately 30 kilometers from the Gulf of Gökova to its southwest. The Menteşe district area borders several other districts, including Milas, Yatağan, Kavaklıdere, Ula, and Köyceğiz.
The province is notable for hosting several internationally recognized tourist resorts. These include Bodrum, Marmaris, Datça, Dalyan, Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, and the smaller resort of Sarigerme.
