Battalgazi, also known by its Kurdish name Betalqazî, is a municipality and district located in the Malatya Province of Turkey. It was formerly and is still colloquially referred to as Eskimalatya, which translates to Older Malatya.
The district covers a total area of 947 km2 and had a population of 307,478 as of 2022. Following a reorganization in 2013, the district expanded to include parts of the former central district of Malatya Province.
