Körfez is a municipality and district located in the Kocaeli Province of Turkey. Formerly known by the names Elaia or Elaea, the area covers a total landmass of 301 km2.
As of 2022, the district has a population of 178,048 residents. It serves as a primary administrative and residential hub within the Kocaeli region.
