Hereke

Hereke is a city located in Turkey, situated to the north of the Gulf of İzmit near Istanbul. The town is primarily recognized for its production of Hereke carpets.

Historically, Hereke was bound to the Gebze district before transferring to Körfez in 1987. It functioned as an independent municipality until it was merged into the municipality of Körfez in 2008. The city is composed of several neighborhoods, including 17 Ağustos, Agah Ateş, Cumhuriyet, Hacı Akif, Kışladüzü, Şirinyalı, and Yukarı Hereke.

Travelers can reach Hereke via various modes of transportation, including minibus, public bus, ship, sea bus, and the Adapazarı Express train.
