Kayseri is a large city located in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. It serves as the capital of Kayseri province and has been recognized historically as the capital of Cappadocia since ancient times. The city was formerly known by the name Caesarea.
The Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality area consists of five distinct districts. These include the two central districts of Kocasinan and Melikgazi, along with the outlying districts of Hacılar, İncesu, and Talas, which were added to the municipality in 2004.
