Menemen is a municipality and district located within the İzmir Province of Turkey. Situated approximately 35 kilometers from the city center of İzmir, it covers an area of 573 square kilometers and had a population of 200,904 as of 2022.
The district is characterized by its location on a fertile plain created by alluvial soil deposited by the Gediz River. It features a coastline extending 27 kilometers to the west and shares borders with several neighboring districts, including Aliağa and Foça to the north, and Bornova, Karşıyaka, and Çiğli to the south. To its east, Menemen neighbors the Manisa Province.
