Karşıyaka is a municipality and district located in the İzmir Province of Turkey. Covering an area of 51 km2, it sits along the northern and eastern coastline of the tip of the Gulf of İzmir. The district's center is situated approximately 6 kilometers north of Konak Square, which serves as the traditional center of İzmir on the opposite coast.
The district borders Menemen to the north, Bornova to the east, and Çiğli to the west. As of 2022, Karşıyaka has a population of 346,264. It serves as an active hub for commerce, culture, education, and tourism.
A defining characteristic of the district is its urban culture centered around the sports club Karşıyaka SK. The club maintains a large and passionate fan base within the region.
