Çiğli is a municipality and district located in the İzmir Province of Turkey. It occupies an area of 139 km2 and had a recorded population of 214,065 as of 2022. Geographically, the district covers the northwestern portion of the İzmir agglomeration, situated around the mouth of the Gediz River across the Gulf of İzmir from the main city center.
The region is home to several significant landmarks and economic hubs. It contains the Gediz delta, which is designated as an Important Bird Area, though it currently faces threats from urban development. Additionally, the district hosts a major air force base and the İzmir Atatürk Organized Industrial Zone (IAOIZ), which serves as a primary economic center for the area.
