Silivri, formerly known as Selymbria, is a municipality and district located within the Istanbul Province of Turkey. It is situated along the coast of the Sea of Marmara, positioned outside the primary urban core of Istanbul.
The district has a population of 217,163 as of 2022. The largest settlement within the municipality shares the name Silivri. Due to its coastal location and proximity to the city, the area is characterized by numerous holiday and weekend homes for residents of Istanbul.
