Şile is a district and municipality located within the Istanbul Province of Turkey. It covers an area of 800 square kilometers and has a recorded population of 43,464 as of 2022. The region borders the province of Kocaeli to the east and south, while it shares boundaries with the Istanbul districts of Pendik to the south, Çekmeköy to the southwest, and Beykoz to the west.
The district includes the popular resort town of Ağva as part of its jurisdiction. Şile is characterized by significant seasonal population fluctuations; between June and September, the number of residents increases rapidly due to many people from Istanbul owning summer houses in the area.
