Gönen is a municipality and district located in the Balıkesir Province of Turkey. Situated on the southern part of the Marmara Sea, the district covers a total area of 1,162 km². As of 2022, the population of the region was recorded at 74,871.
The town is primarily recognized for its industrial and natural resources. It is notably known for its leather processing facilities and rice production. Additionally, Gönen is a destination for therapeutic hot springs.
