Mersin is a large city and port located on the Mediterranean coast in southern Turkey. It serves as the provincial capital of Mersin Province.
The city is composed of four district governorates, each of which maintains its own municipality: Akdeniz, Mezitli, Toroslar, and Yenişehir.
