Antakya, also known as Antioch, is a municipality and the capital district of Hatay Province in southern Turkey. The city covers an area of approximately 703 square kilometers and had a population of around 400,000 people as of 2022.
Situated in a well-watered and fertile valley along the Orontes River, Antakya is located about 20 kilometers from the Levantine Sea. It serves as a significant regional center within the southernmost region of the country.
