Elazig

Elazığ is a city located in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey. It serves as the administrative center for both Elazığ Province and Elazığ District. The city was founded in and around the former city of Harput and is situated in the uppermost Euphrates valley.

The plain where the city extends reaches an altitude of 1,067 metres (3,501 ft). Geographically, Elazığ resembles an inland peninsula surrounded by the natural Lake Hazar as well as several reservoirs, including those created by the Keban Dam, Karakaya Dam, Kıralkızı, and Özlüce. As of 2022, the city has a population of 387,072.
