Ergani is a municipality and district located within the Diyarbakır Province of Turkey. Formerly known by the names Arghni or Arghana, the area covers a total land size of 1,510 km2 and had a population of 136,099 as of 2022.
The district is situated in the Southeastern Anatolia Region for administrative purposes, though it is geographically categorized as part of Eastern Anatolia. The local government is currently led by Mayor Ahmet Kaya (HDP), who has held the position since 2019, with Ahmet Karaaslan serving as the appointed District Governor.
