Eceabat, formerly known as Maydos, is a small town located in the Çanakkale Province of Turkey's Marmara region. Situated on the eastern shore of the Gallipoli Peninsula, the town faces the Dardanelles Strait and sits at sea level.
The town serves as the seat of the Eceabat District. It is characterized as an almost entirely modern settlement with a population of 5,636 as of 2021.
