Gerede is a town located in the Bolu Province within the Black Sea region of Turkey. It serves as the administrative seat of the Gerede District and is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,300 meters above sea level.
The town is positioned along the major highway connecting Istanbul to Ankara. As of 2021, its population was recorded at 23,547 residents. The current mayor of Gerede is Mustafa Allar of the AKP.
