Narlidere is a municipality and district located in the İzmir Province of Turkey. It covers an area of 50 km2 and has a population of 62,923 as of 2022. The district is fully urbanized and follows the southern coastline of the inner Gulf of İzmir, situated approximately 10 km west of the traditional center of İzmir (Konak).
The district is bordered by Balçova to the east, Menderes to the south, and Güzelbahçe to the west. Narlidere is characterized by high educational standards, featuring a literacy rate of 93 percent, which ranks among the highest in Turkey. While average yearly income per inhabitant sits below the national average at 2,393 US Dollars—potentially due to an open approach to outside immigration—the locality is generally described as an educated area where residents subsist on mid- to low-level revenues.
